Meet Our Donors

"An extraordinary education, both inside and outside the classroom, and lifelong friendships with both my classmates and the faculty--that is what an Episcopal education means to me and why the school deserves our support.

As parents and grandparents, we watch our children and grandchildren benefit from this remarkable institution. As Alumni, we have experienced it first-hand. In many ways, we are the beneficiaries of Alumni, parents, and friends who for over 230 years have given back to the school which has played such a prominent role in our children's and our own lives.

On my 21st birthday, my father, a lawyer and bank trust officer, impressed on me the importance of having a will, and that it should include at least four non- profit organizations as beneficiaries. This was my father's way of stressing a life time of philanthropy. It was his belief (and now mine) that those of us who have received so much … an Episcopal education … should help others who might otherwise not have the same opportunities. So in 1967, as a college senior with assets consisting of little more than my car ( which I purchased from a former Episcopal math teacher), Episcopal became part of my estate plans. It has been there ever since … —and may our ardor never cool —.

The Bishop William White Society recognizes those individuals who have provided future support to Episcopal through their estate plans. It is one way of continuing Episcopal's legacy of excellence well into the future. These plans may be as simple as adding Episcopal as a beneficiary of an IRA, or leaving part of one's estate through a will, life insurance policy, charitable remainder trust, etc. A gift of any size is gratefully appreciated.

I hope you will consider joining the over 200 Academy families who have included Episcopal in their estate plans. All of us, working together, can continue —to add new luster to thy fame and loyal be to thy dear name Episcopal, Episcopal'."
